A two-piece colostomy bag is used to collect stool (i.e., feces or stool) and is connected to the digestive tract through a stoma on the abdominal wall. The doctor fixes this bag to the stoma after the colostomy surgery. During the operation, the surgeon will lead a part of the large intestine to discharge stool through the stoma. The design of the two-piece colostomy bag allows users to change bags more flexibly without changing the base plate, which provides greater convenience for users.
Compared with the one-piece design, the double-piece colostomy bag provides higher adaptability and personalized options. Users can change the bag as needed, and the base plate can be used for a long time, which not only reduces the frequency of replacement, but also improves economy. In addition, the design of the double-piece colostomy bag is generally more stable, reducing the risk of leakage, making users more comfortable and confident in their daily lives.
Wuhan Sitaili Medical Apparatus Development Co., Ltd., founded in 2003, stands as one of China’s premier manufacturers of two-piece colostomy bags. The company has developed substantial expertise in manufacturing two-piece colostomy bags. Throughout its operation, the manufacturer has achieved ISO9000, ISO13485, FDA and CE certifications, showcasing its professional competence and product reliability.

1.Wash the skin around the stoma from the inside to outside with warm water and then dry it. Measure the size of the stoma with a stomaguide.

baseplate. The diameter of the opening is generally 1-2mm larger than the diameter of the
stoma.
3. Tear off the release paper, align the cut-out baseplate with the stoma, and press it step by
step from bottom to top to make it completely adhere to the skin.
4. When installing the bag, blow a small amount of air into the bag to prevent adhesion of the bag wall. Align the buckle on the bag with the fastener on the baseplate, and gradually press from bottom to top. When you hear a slight “click” , indicating that the bag has been safely installed on the baseplate, and then pull the bag to check whether the buckle is secure.
5.When removing the bag, pinching ring connection Rotary wing, from top to bottom and slowly remove.

If there is too much gas in the ostomy bag, you can try some exhaust techniques, such as:
Direct discharge: If the ostomy bag has an opening design, you can open the seal, hold the bag end with one hand, and push with the other hand from the upper end of the ostomy bag to the bag end to exhaust the gas in the bag, and then close the ostomy bag.
Small hole exhaust: For closed bags, you can pierce a small hole in the upper part of the ostomy bag to exhaust the gas in the bag, and then use a sticker to patch it up, but pay attention to hygiene during operation to avoid infection.
If your colostomy bag is full of poop, we recommend you to change the bag and baseplate together regardless your baseplate is ok or not because the poop erosion can cause skin infection, so it's safer to change them together in this situation rather than just change the bag only.
Generally, the pouch should be cleaned when it is one-third to half full to avoid spillage and skin irritation. For most patients, this may mean cleaning at least two to three times a day. Larger pouches may allow for longer intervals between cleanings, but even so, it is recommended not to wait until the pouch is completely full to prevent accidental leaks.
